I LIKE TO SWITCH UP MY WORKOUTS LIKE I CHANGE OUTFITS. FROM YOGA TO BARRE AND EVEN CROSSFIT, NOTHING IS OFF MY WORKOUT LIST.
There is no magic potion that makes you healthy and fit. Sorry to burst your bubble. When I see people advertising pills or drinks that claim to make you “skinny” just by consuming them, well, it makes me cringe. Being healthy is a life style. It’s a combination of choices one makes every day. It’s actually a fairly simple concept; eat healthy and exercise. I said the concept is easy, it’s the execution that proves difficult.
Once you make the choice to love your body and yourself you have no other choice but to eat whole, healthy, good for you foods. Food is fuel. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to be fueled by Mountain Dew and Twinkies. I need my body to work for me. I need it to fight off sickness, have energy, get me through each script and scene, love on my sweet girls and husband and be a light for the world. I simply wouldn’t have the energy and strength to do all of those things if my body wasn’t given the right nutrients. But food is only one piece of the puzzle, albeit a big piece, working out is the other important part.
To be completely honest, exercising has never been my favorite thing. Anyone who knows me can attest to that. But, I love and respect my body so I made it my mission to find fun ways to get my sweat on. My husband and I opened CrossFit Firestone in Brea, California and we decided to offer many different types of fitness so people have choices and don’t get bored. I switch from yoga to pilates to CrossFit. I love being flexible when it comes to getting my sweat on. One of my favorite workouts is a barre, a ballet style work out. Oh and good music is a must. I also try to incorporate nature into my workout routine. Running on the beach, hiking a mountain, etc. make exercise seem more like an adventure than a chore. Being fit and fab looks different for everyone.
God has brilliantly made us each unique. No one person is like another, so what makes us think our bodies will looks the same? My fit looks different than yours and your fit looks different than mine. We are uniquely beautiful. So embrace your fit, because girl, you are already fab!
