I love any excuse to travel, so naturally a babymoon was a must for me when I was pregnant with baby number three. It wasn’t hard to convince my hubby to spend five days with me and baby-to-be in Maui. I mean, who doesn’t love a good Hawaiian island?
This just might be my last pregnancy and I have been on a mission to enjoy and capture every moment. I knew I had to find a fabulous maternity photographer in Maui and boy did I find a gem. Insert, Tracy Leboe from Baby Hawaii Photography. Her work is just stellar and she really knows how to capture the beauty of a woman’s pregnant body. My husband and I knew we were in good hands with Tracy and her husband (Elliot Leboe of alc_cinema), who also accompanied Tracy on the shoot to get drone footage and land and underwater videography. We set out on a beautiful day in Maui to explore the beautiful land and water views this island has to offer and Tracy and her husband captured priceless memories of my babymoon. Shooting with Baby Hawaii Photography was the highlight of our trip!
Dressing for a maternity shoot is tricky and choosing couture items that are flattering on mama’s growing body can be a challenge. Form fitting dresses that show off the beauty of the pregnant body are my go to choices. I selected several gowns from designer Sew Trendy for my Maui maternity shoot. I am pregnant with a boy so I choose blue tone dresses as well as some neutrals to compliment that fact that a boy is on the way. Gowns that make a big statement and really pop in photos are the best choices for photos like these.
The most important thing to bring to any photoshoot is your true self. Being in front of the camera can be intimidating for many people, but at the end of the day the lens will capture your beautiful soul, but only if you let it show through. Be playful, laugh, spin, or just be a queen. This is your time to shine and you will never get these moments back, so relax and have fun with your shoot. And remember to work it girl!
